I cut the squares out and glue them to pockets.  I will glue the pockets to a poster board and then laminate.

I use pencil or crayon cutouts put student names on them and slide them in the pocket.

2010-2011 Pictures

I took sooooo many pictures this year that I did not have time to finish our video in time.  Then I started working on the video and ended up having to make 2 photostories beacause not all of the pictures fit in one project.

Parents: feel free to download these videos to your computer.

I purchased a subscription on Scholastic today.  I was reluctant at first, but to my suprise I am very impressed :)
There are so many printables in all the core subjects PreK-8th grade.  There is also clipart available.  I really like it!

Classroom Mascot- Longhorn Matt

Weekend Project
I get the school mascot @ build A Bear online, it came with the backpack and everything.  I pick a journal and write a introductory letter at the beginning of the notebook.
At the beginning of the year we vote on a name for him/her.  This year our longhorn's name is "Matt".  Last year his name was "Edward" (In honor of Twilight, LOL)

Each weekend a student's name is picked randomly from a pencil box with popsicle sticks in it with each students' names on it.  The WINNER gets to take matt for the weekend, and take him on a wild adventure. All that I ask is that we take really good care of him and write/take picutres/illustrate about what ______ and Matt did all weekend long.  Sometimes he comes back really dirty but that is ok, I take him home and wash him up.
Usually by March our class mascot has gone home with everyone and that is when I try to involve other faculty throughout the campus. Last year our Principal (Mrs. Traci Gonzalez) took Edward home and she came on Monday and talked all about their adventure. The kids were really excited :)
