Today I had the opportunity to attend FESTIBA-->
http://coah.utpa.edu/festiba/ (The Festival of International Books and Arts) at The University of Texas Pan American (Edinburg, TX). "Reading Along the Rio Grande Valley"
There was a round table discussion about Literacy and Illiteracy in our area and what we can do to reduce the percentage of illiterate people in our society. Many strategies and resources were provided!
I thought I would share! :)
Mr. Matthew Gollub (children's author and story teller was in attendance and was an awesome story teller and author!) His books are very unique with not only song and rythm but with a mix of the English and Spanish Language, with a play on words.
http://matthewgollub.com/---> There are some Free Literacy downloads here as well.
These are two of the books that I actually got to take home today.
Here are some great websites that I learned about today for Literacy: (If you know anymore please share :)
